Mrs. Helen Bennett Higgins, age 77, of Buchanan passed away Monday, October 15, 2012. Mrs. Higgins was born in Calhoun County, Alabama on February 6, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Howard Bennett and the late Mamie V. Bennett. Mrs. Higgins was a retired medical technician. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Higgins.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Jeff Sims of Clarksville, TN and Debra and Robert Allguire of Tallapoosa; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Danny Ray Higgins of Norcross, Kenneth Allen and Gail Higgins of Newnan, James Jeffrey and Karen Higgins of Bremen and Robert Brian and Angela Higgins of Franklin; two brothers, Joe Bennett of Acworth and Jerry Bennett of Pensacola, FL; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be conducted from the Graveside, Thursday, October 16, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from Buchanan City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Ingebrigtsen officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
