Mrs. Helen Carter Bowman, age 83, of 4554 Cashtown Road, Bremen, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Mrs. Bowman was born July 2, 1925 in Polk County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late James Olin Carter and the late Bessie Lou Busby. Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Johnie Robert Bowman, Sr.; one sister, Maline Camp; three brothers, James Carter, Wilburn Carter and Willard Carter. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Katherine and Stephen Holder of Bremen, Cherie and Dennis Long of Buchanan, Lisa and Mark Lockridge of Buchanan; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Janice Bowman of Buchanan; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren, with a host of other relatives surviving. Funeral services will be conducted Friday. January 23, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will be at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jason Bowman, Eric Holder, Adam Long, Stephen Holder, Mark Lockridge, and Dennis Long. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
