Hazel Lou Wigley Harden, age 92 of Douglasville, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2024, in a local healthcare facility. Born in Cullman, Alabama, on February 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Wigley and the late Minnie Viola Folsom Wigley. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Thompson, sister, Nora Mae Souder, brothers, Lee Wigley and Everett Wigley; and two great-granddaughters Sophia Fenstermacher and Alexis Fenstermacher.
Hazel believed in hard work and continued working until she was in her 70's. She spent many years working at Burger's Market in Douglasville. Two of her favorite pastimes were cooking and watching television, especially her soap operas. In addition to loving and taking care of her family, Hazel truly enjoyed talking about the old times.
Her survivors include her children: Martha Davis of Villa Rica, Elaine Abram of Philippi, WV, Aubrey and April Harden of Cartersville, Richard Harden of Garden City, and Hugh Dean (Tawanna) Harden of Carrollton; a brother, Bud and Lillian Wigley of Dallas; and the father of her children, Theron Harden. Also surviving are a twelve grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
In accordance with Hazel's wishes, she was cremated.
Cremation service were entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
