Hattie Belle Worthy Brown, age 94 of Buchanan, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. She was born on December 18, 1927. one of thirteen children of the late Newt Worthy and the late Mollie Williams Worthy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, J.W. Brown; eleven of her siblings:  Lucius Worthy, Mandy Gardiner, Chalmus Worthy, Henry Worthy, James Worthy, Pearl McDowell, Carl Worthy, Charles Worthy, Roy Lee Worthy and infants Louise and Willie Faye Worthy.

Hattie Belle loved her family and her Lord.  She was a faithful member of Tallapoosa East Baptist Church for many years.  In years past, shopping was one of her passions and she was an expert shopper.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Bennie Westmoreland of Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Barbara Worthy; grandchildren, Jay and Krissy Westmoreland and Wendy and Mark Henry; and her great grandchildren, Caleb Westmoreland, Hannah Folds, Emily Henry and Andrew Henry.  Also surviving are her precious great great-grandchildren, Makiah Henry, Elizabeth Folds, Sutton Westmoreland, Anna Folds, and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

The family will also receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 12 Noon until 1:30PM.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 21, 2022, at 2:00 PM from Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Pastor Bennie Westmoreland officiating. Music will be rendered by Roxanne Bright, Josh Worthy and Kristi Vines. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Dr. Mason Bush officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jay Westmoreland, Mark Henry, Bobby Bright, Scott Worthy, Marty Jones and Cainan Worthy. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Taylor.
