Mrs. Hattie Rice Coleman, age 96, of 2692 Buchanan Hwy., Cedartown passed away Friday, April 11, 2008. Mrs. Coleman was born in Haralson County on February 6, 1912. She was the daughter of the late Elijah Noah Rice and the late Levia Kirk Rice. Mrs. Rice was a retired seamstress. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude D. Coleman and four sisters, Ruby Adams, Gladys Cook, Ruth Hulsey and Edna Bishop. Survivors include three sons, Elijah Coleman of Mableton, Daniel Coleman of Winston and Joel Coleman of Winston; one brother, Buell Burnell Rice of Buchanan; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, April 13, 2008 at 4:00 P.M. from the Lime Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy McGuire officiating. Interment will follow in the Lime Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The remains will lie in state at the Church from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
