Harold Carter Ray, age 85 of the Mountain View Community, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.  Born on August 6, 1939, he was the son of the late Albert Ray and the late Anna Stansill Ray.  In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue Ray, his brothers and his sisters.

Harold worked in Atlanta for more than 46 years at the Grant Building as the building maintenance engineer.  In his leisure time and retirement, he enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.  A country boy at heart, Harold enjoyed a good chew of tobacco and taking care of his dogs.  He will be dearly missed by his family, but they know that his suffering is over.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Annette Dobson of Buchanan, Glenn and Wendy Ray of Dallas, and Scott and Renee Ray of Rockmart; his precious grandchildren, Levi Ray, Dylan Ray, Noah Ray, Caleb Ray, Jacob Ray, Lee Dobson, Autumn Schlosser, Dustin Reeves, and Dallas Reeves.; nine great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 31, 2025, at 7:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Kenny Teal officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.

Harold will be laid to rest on Tuesday, April 1st at 11:00 AM in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens in Rome with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Levi Ray, Dylan Ray, Noah Ray, Lee Dobson, Caleb Ray, Jacob Ray, and Dustin Reeves.
