Ms. Gloria Jean "Dinky" Dover Hyatt, age 59, of 73 Matt Dillon Rd., Tallapoosa passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008. Ms. Hyatt was born in Fulton County on August 18, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Odom Dover and Mary Frances Ward Dover of Douglasville. Ms. Hyatt was a warehouse worker. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Shoemaker.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Lewis Prater of Temple; one son and daughter-in-law, Jodie and Teresa Shoemaker of Bremen; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann and Charles Landrum of Cedartown, Pauline and Gene Ray of Douglasville and June and Mike Jones of Hiram; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Tommy and Linda Dover of Villa Rica, Bobby and Kathy Dover of Dallas and Richard Dover of Rome; six grandchildren and their spouses, Ricky and Neva Hyatt of Buchanan, Keshia and Jonathan Holcombe of Tallapoosa, John Cooper of Temple, Joey Shoemaker of Bremen, Jessica Shoemaker of Bremen and Brittany Shoemaker of Bremen; six great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Massengale officiating. Interment will follow in the Pineywoods Cemetery.
