Mrs. Gladys Maner Barkley, age 78, of 61 Pine St., Bremen passed away Friday, November 7, 2008. Mrs. Barkley was born in Haralson County on May 9, 1929. She was the daughter of the late John B. Maner and the late Vonnie Agan Maner. Mrs. Barkley was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Allen Barkley; one daughter, Wanda Sweatman; one son Doyle Barkley; and one sister, Agnes Thacker. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Barkley of Lagrange and Loretta Dobbs of Carrollton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Rex and Sandy Barkley of Bremen and Mark Barkley of Bremen; twelve grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Brother Ricky Shirley officiating. Music will be rendered by Julie Kelley. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
