Mrs. Geraldine Maddox Bennett, age 73, of Union City passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010. Mrs. Bennett was born in Atlanta on January 4, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Jessie Maddox and Louise Cole Maddox. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Maddox Keith and Frances Maddox Bailey; three brothers, Robert Pete Maddox, Alton Maddox and Jimmy Maddox; one granddaughter, Legena Finley; and one great granddaughter, Abigail Maria Puckett. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Teresa and Steve Dyess of MacClenny, FL and Lassie Ketchum of Dallas, GA; four sons and daughters-in-law, Winfred and Vickie Vaughan of Barnesville, Charles and Rhonda Richardson of Hogansville, Roscoe and Jenny Vaughan of San Diego, CA and Jason and Shelly Vaughan of Lawrenceville; mother, Louise Cole Maddox of Union City; two step-daughters, Tonia Bennett Allen of North Carolina and Karen Bennett Kincaid of West Virginia; one step-son, Shannon Bennett of North Carolina; six sisters and one brother-in-law, Peggy Bright of Union City, Reba Vickery of Anderson, SC, Dorothy Singleton of East Point, Shirley Rains of Union City, Patricia Smith of Union City and Linda and Johnny Brook of College Park; fifteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, November 28, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. from Calvary Holiness Church of Fayetteville with Reverend Orr Harrington officiating. The body was cremated. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the Church from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
