Mr. Gary Wood, age 63, of Buchanan passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015.  Mr. Wood was born in Tallapoosa, Georgia on July 2, 1951.  He was the son of the late A.C. Wood and Edna Pope Wood.  Mr. Wood was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #32.

Survivors include one daughter, Charlotte Wood of Kevil, KY; mother, Edna Pope Wood of Buchanan; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Donice Wood of Villa Rica, James and Sue Wood of Buchanan and Anthony and Tandra Wood of Denton, TX; three grandchildren, Emilee Annette Wood, Joshua Wood and Anslee France; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Allen Wilburn officiating.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Buchanan, Georgia, with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: John Wood, Paul Wood, Shane Wood, Tom Pope, John Pope and Stanley Williams.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
