SCPO Garnett Gene Sherman, Sr. (U.S. Navy Retired), age 87, of Carrollton passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017.  Mr. Sherman was born in Litton, Indiana, on February 3, 1930.  He was the son of the late Elbridge Sherman and the late Metta Rigle Sherman.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Garnett G. and Melissa Sherman, Jr., of Bowdon and Mark Sherman of Vernon, CT; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

No services are planned at this time.  In keeping with the wishes of Mr. Sherman, he was cremated.
