Mr. Gaines Richard Stanley, age 76, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016.  Mr. Stanley was born in Athens, Georgia on July 4, 1939.  He was the son of the late Burwell Pope Stanley, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Dodson Stanley.  Mr. Stanley was retired from Southwire where he worked in quality control.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Burwell P. Stanley, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Moore Stanley of Buchanan; one daughter and son-in-law, Gaye and Time Green of Bremen; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tom and Tanya Stanley of Buchanan and Richard M. Stanley of San Antonio, TX; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Becky Stanley of Walla Walla, WA; four grandchildren, Andrew Stanley, Avery Stanley, Lydia and Gary O'Neal and Abby House; one great grandchild, Dallas O'Neal; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. from Buchanan City Cemetery with Dr. Allen Wilburn and Danny Hutcheson officiating.  Interment will follow Buchanan City Cemetery.
