Mrs. Gail Marie Lucia Elkins, age 59, of Buchanan passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011. Mrs. Elkins was born in Utica, New York on January 18, 1952. She was the daughter of Oliver Lucia and Helen Marie Lucia Griffith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Carrol Elkins.

Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Chauvin of Jasper and Rachel Bellew of Buchanan; one son, Derek Elkins of Buchanan; one grandchild, Josie Elkins; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Danny Hutcheson officiating. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Derek Elkins, Dawn Chauvin, Steven Rugato, Sean Lucia, Shelly Lucia and Barry Moilann.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 Noon until 3:00 P.M.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made and sent to the funeral home on the family''s behalf at P.O. Box 491, Buchanan, GA 30113.
