Gail Acker Clements, age 88 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.  Born in Bessemer, Alabama, on April 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Emery Oscar Acker and the late Evelyn Elizabeth Dickey Acker.  In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Grey Clements, Sr; her sisters, Helen Sanders Reynolds and Barbara Acker Beck; and her brothers, Doyle Sanders, Jr., Herman Sanders, Emery "Enoch" Acker, Jr., and G. Patrick Acker.

A graduate of Bessemer High School, Gail lived her early years in Alabama.  She was an avid fan of Alabama football and enjoyed traveling, driving hundreds of miles all around this country.  Gail retired from GMAC where she worked many years as a switchboard operator.  Retiring to Buchanan along with her siblings, she enjoyed sitting on the porch of her log cabin visiting with family and friends and watching the abundant wildlife. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and being called "Meemaw."  Gail was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Buchanan.

Left to cherish her memories are her children and their spouses: Nancy & Byron Hogan, Grey & Candace Clements, and Helen & Seth Hardin, all of Buchanan; her precious grandchildren: Bradley (Hilary) Hogan, David (Elyse) Hogan, Christopher (Kaylyn) Hogan, Andrew (Laurie) Hogan, Emily (Spencer) Fisher, Logan (Adam) Brown, Grace Clements, Will Clements, Lacey Clements, Molly Catherine Clements, Evelyn Hardin, Noah Hardin, and Branson Hardin; her great-grandchildren: Jaideh, Lyla, James, Heidi, Everett, Gavin, Lee, McKenna, Max, June, and Sylvie Jo; and her sister and brother-in-law, Edwina & Lynn Bassett.  Also surviving are a sister-in-law, Barbara Acker of Buchanan, numerous beloved nieces and nephews and other family members.

Funeral services for Gail Clements will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Buchanan.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 AM until the funeral hour.

Interment will follow at 3:00 PM, Central Standard Time, at Hickman Chapel Cemetery, 22335 Eastern Valley Rd, McCalla, AL 35111.
