Mr. Frederick "Fred" William Henry Monroe, age 66, of 1600 Felton Rockmart Rd., Buchanan passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007. Mr. Monroe was born in Haralson County on January 8, 1941. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Buchanan Masonic Lodge. He was also a member at Mt Zion East Baptist Church for over 30 years. He was the son of the late John Grady Monroe and the late Vassie Ayers Monroe. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers J.C. Monroe, Guy Monroe, Robert "Clyde" Monroe and Douglas Monroe.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Morris Monroe of Buchanan; Two daughters and son-in-law, Donna and Chris Bacon and Deborah Smith both of Buchanan; Two sisters, Agnes Maxwell of Lithia Springs and Mary Campbell of Fairburn; three grandchildren Maigen Kirkley, Zac Bacon and Sara Grace Smith all of Buchanan; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 30, 2007 at 3:00 P.M. from Hutcheson`s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Donnie Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion East Baptist Church Cemetery. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
