Obituary

Mr. Fred Perdue Morris, age 85, of Temple passed away Friday, August 17, 2012. Mr. Morris was born in Carroll County on February 27, 1927. He was the son of the late Claude Marshall Morris and the late Lillie Mae Perdue Morris. Mr. Morris was a long time member of the Temple United Methodist Church where he had 28 years perfect attendance in Sunday School. In 1992 he joined District Line United Methodist Church where he enjoyed many years of Christian fellowship. He was a retired maintenance worker with Sunbelt Resorts. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Duma Morris and Thomas Edward "Ed" Morris.

Survivors include is wife of thirty eight years, Gayle Johnson Morris of Temple; one sister, Joyce Hanson of Orlando, FL; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Morris and Estelle Morris; four nieces; one nephew; and a number of great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 19, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. from District Line United Methodist Church with Dr. Terrell McBrayer and Rev. Wesley Forrister officiating. Music will be rendered by Harold McWhorter and Rev. Wesley Forrister. Interment will follow Asbury Cemetery in Temple with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Richard Judy, Eddie Maxwell, Seth Maxwell, Blane Maxwell, Chase Croft and Danny Hutcheson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
