Mr. Franklin Thomas Brannon, age 67, of 5314 Hwy. 120 East, Buchanan passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. Mr. Brannon was born in Haralson County on January 2, 1943. He was the son of the late Murdoc David Brannon and the late Oda Belle McClure Brannon. Mr. Brannon was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in Vietnam and was a retired steel-worker/welder. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chris; four sisters, Elizabeth Wilson, Murdie Cheatwood, Gladys Miller and Janelle Summville; and two brothers, Oliver V. Brannon and A.L. Brannon. Survivors include his wife, Thomasene DuBose Brannon of Buchanan; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Catherine Masi of Crystal River, FL, Alice Oldroyd of Dunnellon, FL, Fran Harrison of Buchanan and Joyce and Larry Dobbs of Buchanan; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Buchanan with Nita DuBose, Lenn Bassett and Charles Partridge officiating. Music will be rendered by Daniel Pratt accompanied by Lana Elefante. Interment will follow in the Brannon-Perryman Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Richard Brannon, Joey Rainey, Joey Garamone, Clark Kimball, Ely elefante, Anthony Masi, Dirk Oldroyd, David Summerville and Wayne Wood. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
