Frances Williams, age 83 of Buchanan, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023, in a local hospital.  Born on July 19, 1939, in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of the late James and Eileen Burrows Smitherman.  In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Smitherman.

A graduate of Okeefe High School, Frances married the love of her life, Ronnie, on December 20, 1959.  Taking care of and spending time with her family were her passions.  She loved celebrating Christmas with her family, reading, and spending time at the beach.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 63 years, Ronnie Williams of Buchanan; her son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Kim Williams of Buchanan; her daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Scott Bardenwerper of Helen; and her sister, Faye McIntyre of Buchanan.  Also surviving are her precious grandchildren, Richard (Lora) Williams, Samantha (Trent) Crabbe, Mitch (Bre) Bardenwerper, Mark  (Emili) Bardenwerper, and Bret Bardenwerper; and her sweet great grandchildren, Presley Crabbe, Ryleigh Williams, Peyton Crabbe, Jordan Williams, Landon Bardenwerper, Lennon Kate Bardenwerper, Averi Bardenwerper, and Ali Bardenwerper, as well as many other family members.,

Funeral services for Frances Williams will be conducted at 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Tallapoosa East Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Mason Bush and Rev. Dr. Allen Wilburn officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Richard Williams Mitch Bardenwerper, Mark Bardenwerper, Brett Bardenwerper, Trent Crabbe, and Mark Bush.

The family will receive friends at Tallapoosa East Baptist Church from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour.
