Ms. Evia Perry Maxwell, age 76 of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Buchanan, GA, on September 17, 1945, to the late Annie Harris Perry and the late George W. Perry.  In addition to her parents, Evia was preceded in death by her husband, Denver J. Maxwell, and three sisters, Mary Richards, Sara Bush, and Elizabeth Worthy.  She was retired from the Haralson County School System where she was the Buchanan Elementary School Lunchroom manager for a number of years. Evia adored spoiling her grandchildren and always had a sweet smile for everyone.

She is survived by her son, Joseph P. (Kandise) Maxwell;  two grandchildren, Caden J. Maxwell and Grace A. Maxwell; a sister, Aline Worthy; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family.

The family is hosting a memorial service for Evia Maxwell at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Baptist Tabernacle Church on Highway 120.
