Mr. Everett Delone McCain, age 92, of Bremen passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014.  Mr. McCain was born in Bremen, Georgia on April 10, 1922.  He was the son of the late Chester and Myrtie McCain.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtice Smith McCain; two sisters, Dorothy Capes and Doris Miller; and two brothers, Donald McCain and Shine McCain.

Mr. McCain served his country in the United States Army in World War II.  He was wounded in Germany and was captured and held in a German POW Camp.  He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.  After his military service he worked for and retired from Warren Sewell Clothing Company.  He also served for many years as a auxiliary police officer with the Bremen Police Department was a fireman with the Bremen Fire Department.

Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy McCain of Bremen and Richard and Kimberly McCain of Bremen; one sister, Delphia Young of Bremen; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Buck and Margie McCain of Bremen and Dan and Ann McCain of Bremen; three grandchildren, Amanda Johnson, Scott McCain and Matthew McCain; three step-grandchildren, Chad McIntire, Kayla McIntire and Jayson McIntire; thirteen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be conducted Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Ricky Shadrix officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with full military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
