Mrs. Evelyn Mildred Griggers Steele, age 84, of 135 Steele Rd., Tallapoosa passed away Sunday, October 11, 2009. Mrs. Steele was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Gartrell Steele. Survivors include one son, Dale Steele of Tallapoosa; one brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Bea Griggers of East Point; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from Baptist Tabernacle Church with Rev. Buddy Gentry and Rev. Charles Worthy officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Paul Medina, Robbie Brown, Vince Hopper, Jeremy Mashburn, Johnny Shepard and Mark Waddell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:00 P.M, until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
