Evelyn Victoria Gore Steed, 93, of Bowdon passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. She was born on June 6, 1918, the daughter of Enoch Hesterley Gore and Georgia McRae Gore of Bremen, GA.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harris Hutson Steed; brothers James, Glenn and Bobby Gore; one sister Emily Hutcheson and a great-granddaughter, Caroline Elizabeth Brown.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Roger Brown of Carrollton; one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Eve Steed of Fort Valley, GA; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Bowdon First Methodist Church, P. O. Box 187, Bowdon, GA 30108.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 10 at 2:00 PM at the Bowdon First Methodist Church. Family will receive friends in the Social Hall of the church after the service.
