Mr. Eugene "Gene" Wade, age 87, of Tallapoosa passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011. Mr. Wade was born in Haralson County on November 23, 1923. He was the son of the late James Arthur Wade and the late Harriett Cason Wade. Mr. Wade was a veteran of the United State Marine Corps and was retired from J.L. Lester Company in Rockmart. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Docia Davenport, Zenada Davis, Mildred Eskeridge, Beatrice Mosley, Vivian Richards and Catherine Bagwell; six brothers, William Wade, Grady Wade, Levi Wade, Buck Wade, J.W. Wade and Raymond Wade.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Tommy Bowling of Tallapoosa; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Bobby and Glenda Wade of Tallapoosa, Jimmy and Mary Lou Wade of Centre, AL, Johnny and Brenda Wade of Bremen and Billy Wade of Buchanan; one sister, Margie Wren of Carrollton; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Van Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Truman Wade, Gary Folsom, Max Wade, Mike Smith, Buck Wilson and Dale Harrison. Military honors will be provided at the Graveside by the Haralson County Veterans Association.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P.M.
until 9:00 P.M.
