Ms. Esther Abercrombie Sims, age 79, of Suwanee passed away Friday, May 28, 2010. Ms. Sims was born in Haralson County on April 21, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Dorsey Abercrombie and the late Wrendie Parrish Abercrombie. Mrs. Sims was a graduate of Emory University and was a certified nurse practitioner for thirty five years with the Fulton County Health Department. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Bob Sims; two sisters, Betsy Brown and Ruby Landers; one brother, Carl Abercrombie; and one grandchild, Scott Sims. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and David Hoyle of Suwanee; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Susan Sims of Atlanta; daughter-in-law, Laura and John Caudle; two sisters, Eunice Arnold and Ogretta Skidmore; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 31, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Alton Stamey officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery. The following have been selected as honorary escorts, Cleveland Abercrombie, Daniel Thomas, Rick Arnold, Larry Chandler Sr., Terry Weldon, Sigmund Scheuer, Bob Sims and Scott Sims. The family will receive guests at the residence located at 3465 White Fox Lane, Suwanee, Georgia 30024 Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A visitation will be conducted at the funeral home Monday from 12 Noon until the funeral hour. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
