Mrs. Elaine D. Maxwell Powers, age 77, of Buchanan formerly of Carrollton passed away Sunday, July 31, 2011. Mrs. Powers was born in Great Falls, Montana on January 28, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Maxwell and the late Lillian Gates Maxwell. Mrs. Powers was retired from Sewell Clothing Company as a seamstress. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Bobby Ray Powers; one sister, Boots Buckley; three brothers, Roy Maxwell, Dick Maxwell and Jerry Maxwell. Survivors include one son, Curt Powers of Buchanan; one sister, Madeline Gillespie of Great Falls, MT; four brothers, Gary Maxwell, Everette Maxwell, Clifford Maxwell and Rodney Maxwell all of Great Falls, MT; four grandchildren, Alecia Powers, Stephanie Powers, Cherokee Powers and Cody Powers; two great grandchildren, Kayla Sue Harper and Zane Kayden Butler; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. C.L. Powers and Rev. Harold Hamrick officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Bremen. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
