Obituary

Mrs. Edna Annette Pope Wood, age 89, of Buchanan passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015.  Mrs. Wood was born in Haralson County, Georgia on March 26, 1926.  She was the daughter of the late Gus Pope and the late Etta Wood Pope.  Mrs. Wood was retired from Cluett, Peabody in Bremen where she worked for thirty seven years.  She also worked at Bell Bomber in Marietta during World War II.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Wood; one son, Gary Wood; four sisters, Shirley Roberts, Belle Williams, Carrie Garner and Rena V Cauthen; and five brothers, Calvin Pope, Melvin Pope, Carl Pope, Gilbert Pope and Grant Pope.


Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Donice Wood of Villa Rica, James and Sue Wood of Buchanan and Anthony and Tandra Wood of Denton, TX; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.


Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 4, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joey Meeks officiating.  Music will be rendered by Johnny and Janice Daniel.  Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
