Edith Hawk Ward, 76, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024.  She was born on June 18, 1948.  Edith dedicated her life to serving her community as a social worker for the Department of Chatham County.  She graduated the Western Carolina University, which laid the foundation for her lifelong commitment to helping others.

Edith was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was cherished for her warmth and caring nature. Edith enjoyed reading books and spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, creating lasting memories with every moment they shared.

She is survived by her daughters, Rachelle Boggan and Robin Bissette.  Edith was preceded in death by her parents Willard and Judith Hawk, and her brother, Mike Hawk.

A Remembrance Ceremony for family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at 1:00 PM at her daughter Robin Bissette's home in Buchanan to honor Edith's life and legacy.  Her life's work and her profound impact on her family will forever be remembered by those who knew her.
