Douglas Leon Smith, age 66 of Villa Rica, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022. He was born on March 12, 1956 to the late Howard Marvin Smith and the late Ollie Jean Tilley Smith. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers, Wayne Smith, Randall Smith, Roger Smith and Lamar Smith and one sister, Janie O'Neal.

Survivors include his wife Melissa Murphy Smith of Villa Rica; daughter, Cynthia Jean Smith of Carrollton; son, Howard (Kayla) Smith of Douglasville; step son, Matt Hanson; sister, Penny Smith; brother, Norman Smith; grandchildren, Howard Jr., Christopher, Kynzlee and numerous other grandchildren and relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until the service hour. Following the service Douglas will be cremated.
