Mr. Dorsey Eugene Rice, Sr., age 60, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Mr. Rice was born in Haralson County on December 6, 1950. He was the son of the late Burnell B. Rice and the late Jannell Posey Rice. Mr. Rice was retired from the United States Army and also from the Georgia Department of Corrections.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Casey Rice of Buchanan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dorsey and Kelli Rice of McDonough and Jason and Gloria Rice of Goodyear, AZ; one sister, Martha Lang of Buchanan; one brother and sister-in-law, David and Nancy Rice of Lawrenceville; four grandchildren, Ethan, Evan Abigail and Aiden Rice; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 30, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery with full military honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
