Mrs. Dorothy Louise Rowell Weatherby, age 92, of Buchanan passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013. Mrs. Weatherby was born in Polk County on May 23, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Frank Rowell and the late Lela Stewart Rowell. Mrs. Weatherby retired from Arrow Shirt Company in Buchanan at age 62 and began a new twenty year career as a receptionist at Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel retiring again at age 82. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Weatherby; one daughter, Frances Kirk; three brothers, Bill Rowell, Herbert Rowell and Calvin Rowell; and one great grandchild, Eric Gray.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Jimmy Mote of Conyers; three grandchildren, Jimmy Stringer, Starla Stringer and Tammy Higgins; four great grandchildren, Dustin Gray, Jeremy Gray, Matthew Gray and Ryan Stringer; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, June 9, 2013 at 4:00 P.M. from Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel with Rev. Buddy Gentry and Danny Hutcheson officiating. Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry. Interment will follow in Baptist Tabernacle Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Denny Gray, Jeremy Gray, Jason Higgins, Ryan Stringer, Ray Morris and Darwyn Summerville. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be current and former associates of Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
