Obituary

Dorothy Walker Morris, age 93, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 15, 2024.  Born in Haralson County on August 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late William Washington Walker and the late Laura Hudgins Walker.  In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Curtis Morris, her second husband, Bertis Hand; her sisters, Edna Hudgins, Annie Mae Tidwell, Irene Morris, and Katherine Robinson; and her brothers, J.T. Walker and Grady Walker.

Family was all important to Dorothy, and she adored babysitting her grandchildren.  Once they were in school, her afternoons were filled with "The Bold & the Beautiful" and "The Young & the Restless," as well as her word searches to keep her mind sharp.  Dorothy also enjoyed playing Bingo and lottery scratch offs.  A wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother, she will be dearly missed by all.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & Harold Payton of Villa Rica; and her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve Morris of Carrollton, Wayne & Fiona Morris of Bremen, and Robin & Kada Morris of Tallapoosa.  Also surviving are her precious grandchildren: Holly, D.J., Tara, Jeremy, Karissa, Emily, Mary, and Nikki; her 10 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild (and one on the way); a number of nieces and nephews and her special caretakers, Ann Iler and Jesse.
