Mrs. Dorothy Taylor Houston, age 85 of Bremen, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2022.  She was born in Haralson County on January 31, 1937 to the late Ralph William Taylor and the late Minnie Morris Taylor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Houston; a daughter, Sabrina Houston Snyder; grandchildren, Larry Houston, Crystal Robinson, and Amy Pace; and a son-in-law, Jerry Pace.

Dorothy loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.    A nature lover, she enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and playing with her dogs.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and son-in-law: Marie & Johnny Houston of Bremen, and Cathy Pace, all of Bremen; her grandchildren: April & J.C. Bates of Muscadine; Kelly & Jason Jones of Wedowee; Jennifer & Ben Morris of Bremen; and Matt & Misty Houston of Wedowee.  Also surviving are 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Houston will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the funeral hour.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Bremen with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: J.C. Bates, Justin Bates, Jason Jones, Ben Morris, Matt Houston, and Douglas Robinson.
