Dorothy Mae Cash Ayers, age 87, of Buchanan, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She was born in Polk County on December 27, 1933 to the late Wilburn Ira Cash and the late Mary Ida Eaves Cash. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hillary Edward Ayers; two brothers, William Cash and Fred Cash and one grandson, Chris Swain.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Gary (JoAnn) Cummings of Buchanan, Michael Cummings of SC, Timothy J. Ayers of Buchanan and Kenneth E. Ayers (Alina) of Tallapoosa; twelve grandchildren, Steve Cummings, Morgan Cummings, Sammy Cummings, Jesse Cummings, Chris (Jessica) Cummings, Daniel Cummings, John Flowers, II, Sarah (Adrian) Brock, Hillary (John) Darnell, Dylan Ayers, Hunter Ayers and Ryley Ayers; many great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel at 2:00 PM with Reverend Ricky Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Chris Cummings, Jesse Cummings, John Flowers, Daniel Cummings, Adrian Brock and Morgan Cummings.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until the service hour.
