Mrs. Doris Virginia Padgett Rice, age 85, of Bremen passed away Friday, September 18, 2015.  Mrs. Padgett was born in LaGrange, Georgia on March 8, 1930.  She was the daughter of the late James Elijah and Florence Padgett.  Mrs. Rice was a homemaker.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Amos Rice; one son, Perry Rice; two grandchildren, Vicki Rice and Donnie Brown.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Judy Loraine Brown of Flowery Branch, Amanda Hope and Mark Swann of Bremen and Virginia Michelle and Allen Shaw of Bremen; one son, Michael Wayne Rice of Shannon; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Clayton Collier of Rome; one brother and sister-in-law, Calvin and Mary Padgett of Eufaula, AL; ten grandchildren, Jimmy Rice, Wendy Ray, Melanie Driver, Michael Rice, Jennifer Hardin, Brett Rice, Caleb Rice, Justin Swann, Brooklyn Swann, Dustin Swann and Sabrina Alegria; sixteen great grandchildren; and a number other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutchesons's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Buddy Gentry officiating.  Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry.  Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
