Donnie Dublin Harper, age 67 of Rockmart, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024.  Born on April 15, 1957, in Villa Rica, Georgia, he was the son of Fred Harper and the late Annette Simpson Harper. In addition to his mother, Donnie is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sue Harrell Harper, his sons, Ian Harper and Joey Lane, his grandparents, Othel and Willene Simpson,  his brother, Freddie Dale Harper, and great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Howard, Wesson Lane and Hayden Lane.

Growing up in the 70's, Donnie loved all types of music and fast cars.  A plumber by trade, he worked for many years for the City of Bremen Water Authority and Ray Smith Plumbing.  Donnie enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, shooting, and taking care of his chickens.  He was an animal lover and especially loved his dogs. He had a great collection of hats and spent many hours watching movies.  However, Donnie's passion was his family and he dearly loved his wife Sue who passed away in 2007.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons and daughter-in-law, Jonathan & Alecia Harper of Bremen and Timothy & Stephanie Lane of Buchanan; a daughter, Cynthia & Joe Rowell of Buchanan; a sister Dondra Harper of  Rockmart; and his father, Fred Harper.  Also surviving are his precious grandchildren: Nathan Lane, Jessica Lane, Joanna Lane, Nickolas Lane, Danielle Lane, Breanna Coffman, DJ Coffman, Shea Coffman Worthy, Bailey Lane, Gabriel Lane, Stella Lane, Gracie Lane, Lillia Lane, Lawsen Lane, Chandler Lane, Kayla Harper, and Kai Harper; and a number of great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Funeral services for Donnie Harper will be conducted Friday, May 3, 2024, at 7:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory.  His family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until the funeral hour.  Following the service, Donnie will be cremated.
