Mr. Donald Joe Pollard, age 72, of Buchanan passed away Friday, April 25, 2014.  Mr. Pollard was born in Buchanan, Georgia on July 16, 1941.  He was the son of the late Johnnie Eugene Pollard and the late Ola Mae Hartley Pollard.  Mr. Pollard was a retired gasket maker.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Travis Pollard; one sister, Carol Welchel; and two brothers, J.E. Pollard and Delmer Pollard.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Frankie and Donna Pollard of Bowdon; one daughter, Crystal Hobbs of Carrollton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Magelene Melear of Buchanan and Sandra and Carlos Wade of Bremen; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Melvin and Sandra Pollard of Buchanan, Sam Pollard of Buchanan; four grandchildren, Nicole Weldon, Tracey Lee Haney, Jr., Leary Williams and Cortney Reeves; three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Weldon, Avery Weldon and Ethan Reeves; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 28, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Rev. Raymond Cash officiating.  Music will be rendered by Rev. Buddy Gentry and Lori Thomas.  Interment will follow in Buchanan City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
