Donald Edward Fincher

Donald Edward Fincher, age 73 of Tallapoosa, passed away Friday, January 2, 2026.  Born in Birmingham, Alabama, on December 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Lloyd Nathaniel Fincher and the late Cordi Mae Morris Fincher.  In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Lynn Fincher; his son, Johnny Fincher; his sister, Charlotte A. Fincher; and his brother, Thomas Dennis Fincher.

Don proudly served in the United States Army from 1970 until 1973.  He served eight months in Vietnam and received the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the M-16 Expert Badge.  For most of his life, Don worked as a mechanic. 

Survivors include his niece, Jennifer Fincher Townsend, and nephew, Christopher Bryan Fincher.

In keeping with his wishes, Don will be cremated.  He and his wife, Lynn, will be reverently interred at the Georgia National Cemetery at a later date.
