Donald Edward Pollard, age 79 of Bremen, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025, in a local hospital.  Born in Carrollton on March 23, 1945, he was the son of the late Chester Pollard and the late Avis Shirey Pollard.  In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his sister, Marion Lee, and his brother, Gary Pollard.

After retiring as a driver for Yellow Freight, Donald maintained his love of traveling, especially to casinos.  He enjoyed fishing and shooting pool in his spare time.  Every Thursday, Donald spent time with the "Grumpy Ole Men's Club."  They enjoyed eating lunch together at different restaurants.  Donald loved his family dearly and his PomChi dog, Dusty.

Survivors include his daughters, Robin Pollard of Bremen and Suzanne Pollard of Heflin; his son, Joey Pollard of Heflin, and his grandchildren: Nick Sullivan, Erin Sullivan, Christian Ray, Nikki McAdams, Heather Cash, and Madison Pollard.  Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Troy Lee of Rome, and a number of great-grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Memorial services for Donald Pollard will be conducted on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 5:00 PM from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Tony Lord officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 3:00 PM until the service hour.
