Dianne Kay Pearson Shepherd, age 78 of Buchanan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024, surrounded by her family.  Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on September 29, 1945, she was the daughter of the late C.L. Pearson and the late Alma Grace Owen Hanson.  In addition to her parents, Kay is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hudell Shepherd and their only son Terence Edward Shepherd.

Kay was the consummate homemaker and loved taking care of her family and home.  When relaxing, she enjoyed playing cards and reading.  Traveling was her passion, and Kay spent many enjoyable times cruising to Alaska, Hawaii, and other beautiful destinations.   Kay was a devoted member of Beulahland Baptist Church.  Her beautiful smile and warm personality will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Tina Annette Martin of Bremen; her grandsons, Terence "Terry" Smith of Carrollton and Charles "Charlie" Crafton of Bremen; and her great-grandson, Jameson Smith of Carrollton. Also surviving are her sisters, Linda Cherry and Deborah Dills and her brother Michael Pearson, all of Bremen.

Graveside services for Kay Shepherd will be conducted on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 3:00 PM from Draketown Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Chris Reid officiating.

The family will receive friends at the graveside from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM.

The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Beulah Land Baptist Church, 229 Pleasant Grove Road, Rockmart, GA 30153.
