Dianne McWhorter Allred

Dianne McWhorter Allred, age 75 of Fruithurst, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.  Born in Fruithurst, Alabama, on January 12, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Leo McWhorter and the late Ruth Headrick McWhorter.  In addition to her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Allred; her sister Linda Phillips; and her brothers, Kenneth McWhorter and Jimmy McWhorter.

After graduating high school, Dianne worked and retired after 30 years as an operator for Bell South Telephone. In her leisure time, she enjoyed being in nature whether she was fishing or bird watching.  Weekends she could be found hunting for treasures at thrift stores and yard sales.  Dianne enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially talking with them on the phone.  Her passion was her family.  The title of "Mimi" came with her first grandchild and was affectionately used by all her family. Her beautiful smile and sweet spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, Ryan (Dayna Wooten)  Allred; her precious grandchildren: Hunter (Taylor) Allred and Natalie Allred; and her sweet great-grandchildren: Dawson, Autumn, Aubrey, Della, and Ada.  Also surviving are her beloved sister, Cindy Hudson of Piedmont, Alabama, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In keeping with Dianne's wishes, she will be cremated. The family is planning a celebration of her life at a later date.
