Derrick Clarence Barnes passed away on December 15, 2025, in Carrollton, Georgia, at the age of 36. Born on October 5, 1989, in Manhattan, New York, Derrick was a remarkable individual known for his unwavering commitment to both his family and his profession. Derrick has a wonderful sense of humor and was always a shoulder to cry on.  He could lift your spirits if you weren't yourself and motivate you to be your best.  One of his mottos was "Teamwork makes the dream work," and he always strived to do his best. Derrick never complained no matter the situation.

Derrick achieved a Bachelor's Degree, which served as a testament to his ambition and determination. His ability to go above and beyond what was expected of him was seen in his dedication as a great provider and protector for his family. His colleagues and friends alike recognized him as an overachiever, driven by a set of goals that constantly pushed him to improve. In addition to his professional pursuits, Derrick had a range of hobbies and interests that enriched his life. He was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly enjoying football, wrestling, tennis and volleyball. His passion for music and and cooking further illustrated his vibrant and multifaceted personality. A great listener and friend, Derrick's personality shone brightly through his loving and caring nature. He had an infectious smile that brightened the lives of those around him.

Derrick was a devoted husband to his wife, Kristy, and a nurturing father to his children: daughter, Brooklyn and sons, Ahmad, Derrick, and Braydon. Derrick's family also included his parents, Dushun Barnes and Timothy Toppins, his sisters, Dushun, Crystal, Tia, Tamera and Cherokee, brothers, Timmy and Dave, and his aunt, Teri. His strong connections extended to his friends, including Mike, Big Country, Dennis, and Amare, who stood by him through thick and thin. He also loved and cherished his three dogs in his life, Amber, Blue Eyes, and Bella.
