Deborah "Debbie" Renee Monroe Smith, age 54 of Buchanan, passed away on Monday, October 14, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on July 19, 1970 in Fulton County to Evelyn Morris Monroe and the late Fredrick William Henry Monroe.

One of Debbie's pleasures in life was shopping.  She also enjoyed iced coffees and watching TV in her leisure time.  But most of all, Debbie loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.  She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Left to cherish her memories in addition to her mother are her children, Maigen and Timothy Hughes of Carrollton and Sara Smith of Buchanan; step children, Wendy Smith Porter of Mobile, AL, Frank J. Smith of Biloxi, MS and Andy Smith of Biloxi, MS; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Chris Bacon of Buchanan; grandchildren and step grandchildren, Easton Hughes, Everleigh Jo Hughes, Drake Smith, Paige Smith, Olivia Claire Porter; nephews, Zac Bacon and Kyle Bacon and several other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Debbie Smith will be conducted on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 4:00 PM from Mt. Zion East Baptist Church  with Reverend Kenny Teal officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion East Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Greg Walker, Donald Phillips, Chris Bacon, Zac Bacon, Timothy Hughes, Kyle Bacon and honorary, Easton Hughes.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at the church from 2:00 PM until the service hour.
