Deborah Ruth Braswell Brooks, age 68 of Buchanan, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at her home. She was born on January 23, 1955, to the late William Lawrence Braswell and the late Annie Ruth Hewitt Braswell. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Johnny Brooks, Sr.; sister, Brenda Adams and brother, Larry Braswell.

Deborah enjoyed gardening, listening to classic rock music and dancing. She loved taking care of her family and especially playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her sense of humor and sassiness will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Donna Braswell of Lowell, Brandy and Anthony Scott of Buchanan, Melissa and Eric Hunt of Buchanan and Bianca and Michael Brown of Buchanan; her son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Hallie Brooks, Jr. of Buchanan; her sisters, Connie Warren, Tracy Davis and Kathy Smith; and her brothers, Danny Braswell and Sammy Braswell.  Also surviving are her precious grandchildren, Lindsay Diedrich, Maizie Truett, River Truett, Halee Brooks, Trinity Brooks, Abbie Webb, Kaylee Webb, Brooke Scott, Ethan Hunt, Sommer Brooks and Westyn Brooks; and great grandchildren, Ema Driver, Elynn Driver, Ella Driver and one on the way.

In keeping with the family's wishes she will be cremated.

Cremation services are entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
