David Michael Cook, born on October 24, 1951, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. A man whose life was rich in both achievement and beloved personal moments, David’s legacy will be deeply cherished by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee B. and Mary Norwood Cook, and his sisters, Linda Blowers and Mary Graham.

David’s early years were marked by a vibrant passion for music. As a talented drummer, he shared his exceptional skills with some of the most renowned names in the music industry, including Johnny Rivers, B.J. Thomas, and Phil Collins with Genesis. This remarkable chapter of his life highlighted not only his musical talent but also his dedication and love for the art form. Educated at Louisiana State University, David’s roots were firmly planted in his home state. He was a devoted fan of Alabama football, finding joy and excitement in the sport that mirrored his team spirit and unwavering loyalty. David’s heart, however, truly belonged to his family. Family gatherings were a source of great happiness for David, where laughter and stories bound generations together in warmth and love.

He was a cherished husband to Peggy Ann Cook and a loving father to his children Kelly and David Willcutt, Remy and Anna Curtis, Alecia and Guylaine Marois-Cook, Mark and Kelly Cook, and Michael and Alethea Cook. His affectionate presence extended to his grandchildren, Megan, Justin, Khristin, Brittany, Breyonna, Patrick, Kassidy, Samantha, Rylan, Cody, Hunter, Joshua, Tyler, Paige, Sean, and Kaylee; many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service at 3:00 PM.
