Corliss Lou Tucker Duke, age 80 of Temple, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Huron, South Dakota, she was the daughter of the late Sam Tucker and the late Kishma Leek Lord. In addition to her parents, Corliss is preceded in death by her son, John Roberts.
Growing up in South Dakota, Corliss was a farm girl who helped her family on their cattle farm. Her love of animals continued in her occupation as a dog groomer. Corliss spent many years pampering countless pets for others. In her leisure time she enjoyed working with arts and crafts. She was accomplished in quilting, crocheting, and painting. Being from the mid-west, Corliss also enjoyed watching western movies and listening to country music. George Strait and Elvis were two of her favorite artists. Corliss loved her family dearly, and her gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Left to cherish her memories are her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne & Denise Roberts of Temple; and her sister and brother-in-law, Robin & Billy Ray Duke of LaGrange. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Chris & Tammie Roberts, Sean & Nicole Roberts, Ryan Roberts, Jasmine Davis and Scotty Davis; her precious great-grandchildren: Sean, Oliver, Ivy, Aubrey, and Hazel; as well as other extended family and friends.
In accordance with her wishes, Corliss will be cremated.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
