Mrs. Margie Christine Shepard Posey, age 85, of Buchanan passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014.  Mrs. Posey was born in Polk County on March 25, 1928.  She was the daughter of the late Clarence Shepard and the late Ruth Rice Hulsey.  Mrs. Posey was a devoted mother and homemaker.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Linton Posey; one daughter, Peggy Posey; one son, Linton Posey; and one brother, Howard Shepard.

Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Cathy Posey of Buchanan and Margie Nyland (Leon) Carroll of Buchanan; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gerald and Vickie Posey of Buchanan and Paul Posey of Buchanan; eight grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren and other relatives.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. from Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. Tom Barfield officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bruce Nyland, Joel Coleman, Daniel Coleman, Elijah Coleman and Jamie Sanderson.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
