Chloe Smith Harvell, age 97 of Buchanan, moved to her heavenly home on Monday, October 27, 2025. Born on April 14, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Melvin E. Smith and the late Lavada Skinner Smith. In addition to her parents, Chloe is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond K. Harvell; brothers, John D. Smith and Paul E. Smith; and sisters, Floy Akers, Dorothy Wilson, Yvonne Cash, Joyce Halloman and Ruth Turner.

Chloe lived a long and productive life and was always a busy lady. Chloe retired from Sewell Manufacturing where she was a seamstress. For several years after retirement, she worked at the famous Gwen's Restaurant in Buchanan making those delicious biscuits.  Never idle hands, Chloe enjoyed sewing quilts, gardening and canning what she had grown in her garden.  A devoted woman of God, she read her Bible daily. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and had been attending Mountain Home Church.  Her legacy of those blessed 97 years will be dearly remembered by her beloved family and friends.

Her survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Dennis & Therresa Harvell, Phillip Richard & Betty Harvell, and Charles Randall & Cathy Harvell, all of Buchanan; her last surviving sister, Josephine Thompson of Carrollton; 8 grandchildren, Kathy Smith, Lindy Fairel, Denise Watkins, Kayla Studdard, Kaysi Womack, Angie Mowery, Micheal Harvell and Christopher Harvell; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and 8 great great-grandchildren with twins on the way.

Funeral services for Chloe Harvell will be conducted on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel with Reverend Anthony Trawick and Reverend Brad Gordon officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Buchanan, with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Kyle Mowery, Will Smith, Ralph Lowther, Keith Vaughn, Joe Vaughn, Tyler Dempsey, and honorary pallbearer, James Wood.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
