Cheryl Jan Lanier Hobbs, age 77 of Paulding County, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025.  Born in Rome, Georgia, on January 7, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Clarence Lanier and the late Verna Margaret Simpson Hughes.  In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her sister, Margie, and her brother, Buddy.

Cheryl was retired from SunTrust (Truist) Bank where she was the Vice-President of International Marketing.  When at home, she was an immaculate housekeeper. In her leisure time, Cheryl enjoyed golfing, gardening, and restoring furniture.  She will be dearly missed by her precious fur-baby, Sabrina, the cat, and all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children: Kim & Joe, Jackie, and Eric; and her precious grandchildren who called her Mimi: Kristina, Katelynn, Alec, James, Nathan, Kristian, Brittney, Shaylee, Kane, Paige, and Dylan. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Audrey, Morgan, Christopher, Alex, Jackson, Harmony, Junior, Samuel; a niece, Elisa; a nephew, Martin; and other extended family and friends.

In accordance with Cheryl's wishes, she will be cremated.

Cremation services have been entrusted to Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan.
