Ms. Charlotte Lou Ellen McBrayer Gilliam, age 75, of 610 McBrayer Rd., Buchanan passed away Friday, October 15, 2010. Ms. Gilliam was born in Haralson County on July 27, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Martin Van Buren McBrayer and the late Mary Ann Bowling McBrayer. Ms. Gilliam was a homemaker. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanette Conrad; and two brothers, Joseph McBrayer and David McBrayer. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Paul Perry of Temple and Gloria and Mike Whitton of Bremen; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Julie Mann of Tallapoosa; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Maxine and Merrell Thomas of Conyers, Martha Puckett of Bremen, Margaret and Robbie Sampson of Douglasville and Imogene Evans of Mableton; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Dr. Terrell and Faye McBrayer of Bremen, Jerry McBrayer of Bremen, Van and Judy McBrayer of Buchanan and Dr. Danny McBrayer of Marietta; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, October 17, 2010 at 4:00 P.M. from New Vision Church of God in Buchanan with Rev. James Smith, Dr. Terrell McBrayer and Rev. Wesley Forrister officiating. Music will be rendered by Harold McWhorter, Rev. Wesley Forrister and Imogene Evans. Interment will follow in the New Vision (Buchanan) Church of God Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mark Dawson, Michael Whitton, Jr., Scott Dawson, Dustin Carroll, Taylor Trotter, Vance Morris and Shane McBrayer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Hutcheson''s Memorial Chapel & Crematory of Buchanan is in charge of the arrangements.
