Charles Frank Summerville, age 83 of Buchanan, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born on March 2, 1940, to the late Mack Summerville and the late Rosie Woody Summerville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jodie Summerville; son, Mark Summerville and two brothers, Mack Summerville, Jr. and Cecil Summerville.

Charles enjoyed being outside and working in his yard.  Being on his John Deere tractor and watching the Georgia Bulldogs were some of his favorite times.  Charles loved his family dearly.

Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years Susan Summerville of Buchanan; two daughters and son-in-law, Joan Menter and Gary of Slidell, LA and Samantha Summerville of Atlanta; one son and daughter-in-law, Rick Summerville and Jenny of Buchanan; thirteen grandchildren, Kayla Romero, Johanna Summerville, Jessica Nelson, Emily Vaughn, Lauren Scaffidi, Blake Summerville, Cheyenne Wrigley, DaKota Corn, Hayden Corn, Kevin Menter, Kenny Menter, Kara Munn and Kim Menter; numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the Buchanan Cemetery with Reverend Dr. Mason Bush officiating. Cody Summerville, Chris Gore, Tristan Padilla, Lenin Romero, Blake Summerville and Michael Cheatwood will serve as pallbearers.
